Madison Reed Opens Its 75th Location

The prestige beauty brand, Madison Reed, is opening another physical location in Paramus, NJ, which will be its 75th salon. The company has grown its retail footprint six times since the pandemic. By the end of the year, Madison Reed will have 80 Hair Color Bars and 800 new colorists.

Madison Reed products are Leaping Bunny Certified

The company has revolutionized the hair color industry by empowering customers to self-color their hair at home or use the services in the Hair Color Bars if they prefer to have a licensed professional do the job. Madison Reed salons use the same coloring products that can be purchased directly by the consumer. The hair color, which has been well-received by customers, is formulated without harsh ingredients such as ammonia, PPD, resorcinol, parabens, phthalates, gluten, SLS, and titanium dioxide (hence the Smart 8-Free labeling). Madison Reed is also Leaping Bunny Certified, which means that products are not tested on animals.

Amy Errett, CEO and founder of Madison Reed, is proud that she has both empowered consumers to color their own hair and provided employment for licensed professionals. “For us, reaching this incredible milestone is not about the number of locations we’ve opened, but the number of clients who have visited a Hair Color Bar and felt unstoppable,” said Errett. Madison Reed has remained focused on two core principles: Integrity of product and integrity of team spirit, which has resonated with today’s consumers looking for products that use fewer chemicals and companies that focus on employee well-being. Errett, earlier this year, won a prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® Bay Area Award.

An omnichannel presence for a busy consumer

The company focuses on providing consumers with options that meet their busy lifestyles. Time and convenience are key purchasing considerations, and the company is delivering on its commitments to its customers. Errett describes how today’s customers may want to do at-home hair color, but, for example, if traveling, they may wish to visit a local salon in the area where they are visiting. The same color formulations are used with both methods, so clients are confident that their hair color will be the same. Meeting the multiple needs of the consumer is how companies drive deeper loyalties. The Unlimited Roots Membership provides an excellent service for busy clients who want to pop into a salon and have their color touched up.

From a pop-up shop to 80 locations nationwide

“A few years ago, we opened a pop-up in New York City with the belief that everyone deserves better – better hair color, better ingredients and better service. Now we have 75 Hair Color Bars nationwide,” said Errett. In addition to the Hair Color Bars and the Madison Reed website, consumers can access products at Amazon
